Phoenician trefoil oinochoe in Red Slip ware or what is often called Phoenician Red Slip ware. 

A wonderful shape!  Wheel-made in buff clay with matt red slip, ovoid body on a splaying foot; tall tapering neck with a trefoil spout and tall handle from shoulder to rim.

260mm to top of handle.

Part of base repaired/restored and chip under front lip

Variagated colouring on one side from varition of oxygen in the kiln when fired.

Reputedly found in Northen Palastine in the 1930's

Iron Age II A-B circa  900 BC
