To either ENQUIRE or BUY a piece click the button you will see with each  item.

No impersonal 'shopping basket' system here. I prefer to do all this personally by email.

ALSO  PLEASE NOTE

There are hardly any items for sale beyond page 29 on the gallery here.

I have left so many sold items on show (and in the sold archive) as many collectors have said they find such photos and information useful to have.

A very interesting named New Kingdom shabti: famous person or not? Is this the Amun -Mes?? (See below) A bright blue faience shabti with very well and clearly painted hieroglyphs holding a pair of hoes and with a basket over the back. 106 mm Totally intact. Most of the back has lost the superficial surface and is mostly white. He has also had his mouth rubbed away. Reads for The Chief Gatekeeper Amun-Mes. Asir hri wn Imn Ms 19th/20th dynasty ....................................................................................................................................................... The only interactive antiquities gallery known to mankind! I had been distracted by the Mes = born of, as this is so frequently found on shabtis where the mother's name is written. From Niek: The Osiris, the master (hri) of the opening (wn the rabbit, n waterline sound enhancer, the shrine door Gardner 031, which determines that it is indeed Wn  the opening (of the door of the temple of Amun?) Unfortunately there is no pr-sign for temple so it remains unclear what is he opening and is his name Amun-Mes or just Mes? See Niek's website! http://www.shabticollections.com/Shabtiwebsite/indexhoofd.html<//link> From Alexander Niek, you are absolutely right, this is without question the hare wn.  The official title reads Hry wnw = "chief gate keeper". No need for "temple of Amun" or similar, wnw = gate keeper. So the name is Amun-mes (imn-ms.w, "Amun is born"). There is a shabti in Russia (cannot remember if Hermitage or Pushkin) which is unusual, because it has a dedicatory inscription ("it was her son who made her name live" or something similar). If I am not mistaken this son was called Amun-mes and was gatekeeper. Not at all sure about the identification with this one, though. I'd link to Alexander's website also, if he had  one! ............................................................................................................................................................................ Whoever acquires this shabti, I hope will try to establish if this is the Amun Mes. Assistance will be provided! :o) This one certainly deserves more research. I would be delighted to publish the findings here on my website. It's been done before with shabtis which have passed through my hands. Look here: http://www.collector-antiquities.com/224/<//link>
