A really large and imposing piece of Roman pottery



A horizontally ribbed slightly bag shaped pot which shows
internally the  horizontal striations of
its manufacture which was by coiling.



It is in Roman coarse buffware.



Intact: just one surface flake off one  side.

It has inked 
marks on one side which is likely to have been made when it was found in
an archaeological dig



330 mm and 130mm across the top.

Circa 1st cent BC -1st cent AD
