Another fake Sumerian perforated plaque from this seller on eBay in Dubai.

 



Not particularly well copied from a famous example in the museum in Bagdhad which was found at  Khafajah (ancient Tutub) in Iraq by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in the early 1930s.

The faker  has put figures on both sides which is very unusual for a Sumerian perforated plaque.

 




In order to make the thing look really old it has been dipped in acid: you can see the straight line !
