As noted many years ago here although these are so very obviously tourist souvenirs of various ages they nevertheless manage to get sold to new collectors as genuine antiquities quite often.

Although the tops are much the same there appear to be only a few bottom types.

And a very hopeful seller on eBay - who I think does believe it is ancient.

It appears that these were made some time before the First World War. Some people believe thay were made as paperweights - but obviously also sold to gullible travellers as genuine.
