Here is one of  them.

Coincidently.....from  Franco Magnarini's book,  Catalogo Ragionato Di Una Collezione Di Scarabei-Sigillo Egizi

Well, only a sort of coincidence because this style of badly  made fake is very common.

In fact they are so badly done that they can't really be called fakes. More like tourist souvenirs.

The strange Horus falcon with spindly legs.

Sold a repros by many sellers.

But as the lady seller said after al this was politely explained to her....

The signed Albert Richardson appraisal that goes with these Scarabs reads that they are authentic . I must accept this document as being  correct. And so does the Insurance Company.

I wonder how much they were insured for!

They sold for around $350 each.

Later apparently, one she had sold reappeared and  this time sold for $500.

The seller's last response:

Listen Pest, have sold many scarabs, and scarab related items over the years and never had any problems with any of them, In fact I have gotten 100% feed backs, so don't get your nickers in a twist, go back to your corner (keep it dark) and get some rest seems like you need it in "The Home" as far as I can see you must be a person with nothing to do at all, maybe you lost your knitting needles, whatever your problem is, you do have one. I was selling scarabs when little twits like you were still trying out their Mothers Lip Stick. Why don't you stop acting like a "Big Girl" dust off your heels and get a real job.If you can, that may be your problem you can't find a job, I can see why.

Here we go again. A year later.

Another popular type for the makers of tourist souvenirs.
