Someone asked me about these two seals.

Requested a reading of the cylinder seal.

 

 

 



 

First the cylinder.

Bought for $3200, generously reduced by the seller from  $4000



This is  not real cuneiform writing of course.

Could be the maker  gained inspiration from this very  famous seal of Darius hunting, which is in the British Museum.



The  supposed Mesopotamian stamp seal at "only2 $600,  was from a different seller, who has quite a number of examples of this makers work.




With  certificates: both signed by same "expert" .
