Shabtis are somethng many people enquire about and send photos of.

 

AM asks about these which apparently definitely come from Egypt.

Unfortunately  neither is genuine.

The other figure, which might be trying to be a concubine figurine,  appears to me made in the same material as the fake shabti and seems to have the same sort of sand on it! I'm pretty sure that they are made at the same little fatory.

And the "hieroglyphs" are not actually hieroglyhs at all and cannot possbly be read.

Sorry to say, no.

I've seen such on eBay a few times, though not recently.

It's a tourist souvenir  from here: in Brussels.

But there is no  shame in being duped.

We all have been at some time.

It's  the quickest way to learn!

I think I have discovered where the ebay resellers are getting the one shown above left from. But surely they are not paying $500 for them!!
