From Tony 10th April 2006
Since January 2006 I have seen the following statue (A) sold by four different dealers and each one has given a completely different description of the item. Which (if any ) are real? I would say for sure that B C and D are castings. (Did the ancient Egyptians use 'stone composite' ?) Is there a higher probabilty of an artifact being genuine if it is made of Stone?
Here is what I recorded:
Item A - 7379594105 sold by Artifactforu on January 11, 2006. He described it as Queen Twosret and dated it accordingly - 1187 - 1185 B.C.E. It is made of stone (you can see cracks in it - possibly the reason why it broke off from its base?) The item has a faint trace of blue to it.
Item B - 7397094908 sold by sundance-gallerie on March 15. He describes it as being a Statue of Hathor. He says it is stone (it has no cracks like A and look exactly like C which is said to be made of stone composite). He says " ... it represents Hathor as a lady with no cow horns." "It is a very unique piece." and dates it by saying "It is very old."
Item C - 7399876556 sold by egyptianseller on March 25. He described it as a "Queen as Divine Adoratrice of Amun" He says it is made of stone composite and dates it from 1075 - 715 B.C.E.
Item D - 7406239878 sold by lost_civ. He describes it by saying her body is arched - I do not see any arch - like that of Nut. He says the headdress is a pot, symbolic of Nut. It is made of clay (see the holes) and he dates it 332 - 323 B.C.E

I submit the item number: 7407655204 as the fake of the week. I like very much the face. It looks like the smiling face icons. The figurine reminds me of my daughter's handycrafts when she was 6 years old.
